You are all welcome: Opening Friday the 26th of April at 6 pm
Saturday and Sunday the 27th and 28th of April from 1 until 7 pm
In her serial works, the Munich based artist Magdalena Waller (*1988) investigates the question upon an own personal identity. The motives by which this investigation takes place are representative of the externally perceptible determinants of such: clothing, houses - as a cipher for home - and self-portraits or portraits of family members. Due to the often only subtle changes in the series of a single motive, the question of identity and personality is reflected back to the viewer. At the same time, the juxtaposition of the same motives intensifies this confrontation.

installtion view third skin, copper and ink on paper, 2017
This is my first and only installation. Painting houses I couldn't resist also building one.
The tiles are made of ultra light copper leaves, so when you pass by you actually set the roof on fire!
My solo exhibition is running until August 12 at Dirk Halverscheid Galerie in Munich.

Instalation view "nothing is ever for sure and everything will always be changing" at Kunstarkaden, a gallery space in Munich. They support experimental hanging, so my painting is quite conversational with the red pipes..
